3DLoom

Image to STL

Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image and the AI builds the whole object in 3D, including the sides and back you didn't photograph, then gives you an STL for your slicer. If what you want is a flat relief or a lithophane, use the free lithophane maker instead: that needs no AI.

  • JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 15 MB
  • Binary STL (and GLB with textures)
  • About 700,000 triangles

New accounts get 20 free credits. Failed generations are refunded.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Upload the image

JPG, PNG or WebP up to 15 MB. A PNG with a transparent background is the cleanest input.

  2. Step 2

    Generate

Detailed is the better choice for printing: it has more surface detail.

  3. Step 3

    Download STL

The STL is built in your browser from the finished model.

  4. Step 4

    Open it in your slicer

Scale it to size and let the slicer fix small mesh errors on import.

AI model or heightmap?

Most free image-to-STL converters make a heightmap: brightness becomes height, so you get a flat plaque. That works for logos and lithophanes, not for objects.

An AI model reconstructs the object's shape in 3D. Use it for figurines, products, pets and anything you want to hold in your hand.

JPG, PNG or WebP

The format matters less than the picture. A PNG that already has a transparent background saves the cut-out step and gives the cleanest edges. A JPG straight from a phone works well if the object is sharp and fully in frame.

Screenshots, collages and images with text on top give poor results: the AI tries to model everything it sees.

Questions

Is the STL ready to print?+

Usually after one click in your slicer. AI meshes can contain small holes or loose fragments; Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer and Cura repair these on import. Check the preview for floating pieces before printing.

Why is my STL tiny or huge?+

STL stores no units. Slicers read it as millimeters, so set the height you want after importing.

Can I keep the colors?+

STL has no color. Keep the GLB for color, or convert to 3MF and paint in Bambu Studio.
